Hi, I'm Kate!

Kate Scott (She/Her)
Registered Social Worker, Clinical Supervisor & PhD Student
Approach to Therapy
Kate takes a gentle, collaborative approach to therapy, meeting clients where they are without judgment. She believes that no single modality fits everyone, so she draws on a range of approaches — including somatic practices — tailored to each person's unique experiences and needs. She welcomes laughter as part of the therapeutic process — life is heavy enough, and healing doesn't have to be serious all the time. Kate is committed to creating a safe space where clients can explore their relationship with substance use, mental health, and life's challenges openly and honestly. Her goal is to walk alongside clients as they navigate their own path forward.
Kate is a PhD student and Social Worker with over 15 years of experience. She supports people navigating mental health and exploring their relationship with substances. She brings a compassionate, inclusive approach to her work and strives to create a space where clients feel truly seen and supported.
As an ally to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Kate is committed to providing care that honours every part of a person's identity. She specializes in supporting adults, families, healthcare professionals, probation officers, and first responders, and in helping families and loved ones affected by a family member's substance use.
Kate believes it takes courage and vulnerability to speak about your life and is honoured to walk alongside people as they explore their goals, hopes, and life challenges. She creates a warm space for finding moments of humour, self-compassion, and understanding when reflecting on our human experiences.
Having worked alongside first responders during mental health crisis calls for over 5 years, Kate witnessed firsthand the trauma and stress these professionals carry, which deepened her commitment to supporting those who support others. Kate's personal journey with mental health and substance use has been a driving force in her dedication to this field, fueling her passion for creating spaces where healing is possible for everyone.
